Hey Lovelies!
It’s been a very busy month for me. As I have been shuttling between Lagos and Ibadan almost every week due to work and all..
Lagos is a city in Nigeria, it was formally the federal capital territory before it was moved to Abuja. Like I always say, Lagos is a “no man’s land”.😂
Ibadan on the other hand, is an ancient city of the Yorubas. It is the largest city in Nigeria and the 3rd largest city in Sub-Sahara Africa. Also the 3rd cheapest Nigerian city to live in.

I just thought to share some things about how different the cities are.
Let’s get started!
Let’s get started!
- No major traffic in Ibadan!
I used major because sometimes in Ibadan, they experience a minor traffic which you can term as go slow in some parts of Ibadan. We all know Lagos Traffic has no time, it can happen any time, any day, any moment. All you need do in Lagos is to calculate the traffic time with your time when going out, to be on a safer side. We hope to enjoy a traffic free Lagos sooner or later. (Amen). Ibadan 1 – Lagos 0

- City life
Lagos is the land of many opportunities so they say. A land where you find many hustlers. In Lagos, you can literally find opportunities, yay! But not everyone can survive Lagos gragra. The city life in Lagos is really a good thing, so many beautiful places to have fun most especially on the Island. On the other hand, Ibadan isn’t bad after all. Beautiful places too but not as lively as Lagos. Ibadan 1/2 – Lagos 1!

- Transportation
Guys, transportation charges in Ibadan is so sweet and very affordable I must say. Believe me you, in Ibadan, you can still board a cab for #20. Unlike Lagos where conductors will hardly accept #50 for shorter distances. In Lagos, you can even spend more than half of your salary on transportation depending on your routes to work. This isn’t even funny. The cost of living in Ibadan is quite affordable and very enjoyable. A friend of mine once said, “you know what, let’s go make all in the money in Lagos and go spend it in Ibadan. Life in Ibadan is really affordable. Ibadan 1 – Lagos 0

To be fair to Lagos, Ibadan is an ancient city, it was not really planned by our forefathers in those days– the narrow roads between the old houses is really a ridiculous thing. But things are quite improving now, with the government renovating buildings, road expansions and all sorts is making Ibadan a better city.
Lagos keeps getting better as each government passes by. You all remember the Oshodi of those days.. Lol.

Lagos is the life of Nigeria, leave it or take it. I love the spirit in Lagos, the air, the hustle and bustle, the innovations, the developments, the energy!💪🏽
I love the quiet life in Ibadan. The low energy and low bustle makes me feel really at home. Hahaha😂
Till next time,
Enjoy the rest of your week!

From an Ibadan man who was born and bred in Lagos, I concur!
That transport part….so true. You left out food.
