Hope you all are doing absolutely great? Because I am doing well too.
A long time ago, I came across a lovely book that has changed my life for good. It has opened my intellectuals and inner to see beyond what life could be. And yeah I want to share all what I learnt in this book.
THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE, written by Rick Warren.
A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stamp, a God-shaped life is a flourishing tree.
Rick Warren made us understand that Life is truly not about us. It all started with God. And life is about living a good and godly life to prepare us for what God has planned and prepared for us in heaven.
In Chapter One, he explained to us that if we want to know why we were placed on this Planet, we must begin with God because life is about God.
He emphasized that when we focus on ourselves, we will never reveal our life’s purpose. But we must begin with God our creator. We exist only because God wills that we should exist.

According to Rick Warren, the easiest way to discover the purpose of an invention is to ask the creator of it. The same is true for discovering our life’s purpos
You discover your identity and purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
A man without a purpose is life a ship without a rudder, a waif, a nothing, a no man. – Thomas Carlyle
In Chapter Three, he shared some benefits from of Living a Purpose driven life. Which are,
- Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life. Without God, Life has no purpose and without purpose, life has no meaning, without meaning, life has no significance or hope. Hope comes from having a purpose.
God says, I know what I am planning for you, I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you a hope and a good future.
- Knowing your purpose simplifies your life. Your purpose becomes the standard you use to evaluate which activities are essential and which aren’t. Purpose driven living leads to a simpler lifestyle and a saner schedule.
The Bible says, A pretentious, showy life is an empty life, a plain and simple life is a full life.
Without a purpose, you will keep changing directions, jobs, relationships, churches, or other externals hoping each change will settle the confusion or fill the emptiness in your heart.
- Knowing your purpose motivates your life
Purpose always produces passion. Nothing energizes like a clear purpose. Passion dissipates when you lack purpose and direction.
- Knowing your purpose prepares you for eternity
Living to create an earthly legacy is a short sighted goal.
Remember, you were put on the earth to prepare you for eternity.
Living on purpose is the path to peace.
