Safety Precautions against Covid-19 Outbreak

It’s no longer news about the Covid-19 “Coronavirus disease ” Pandemic outbreak all over the world. It’s been a rough moment for people, change in plans, postponements of events and a whole lot.

What exactly is the Coronavirus disease?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO);

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

They first confirmed case of the pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 in Nigeria was announced on 27 February 2020, when an Italian citizen in Lagos tested positive for the virus, caused by SARS-CoV-2. On 9 March 2020, a second case of the virus was reported in Ewekoro, Ogun State, a Nigerian citizen who had contact with the Italian citizen.

Since the disease got into Nigeria, Nigerians and all our activities haven’t been the same. You all know are it’s been affecting the inflow of cash and turn over of different business. All semi important activities, market activities has been shutdown, even Banks are joining the clique soon.

This pandemic outbreak is a wake up call for us all to trust in God than ever before, amend our ways before God our creator. And worship him in spirit and in truth. I was going through a friend’s Instagram story yesterday and she shared this page with us. On the page, a woman, (a pastor I presume) she had an encounter with God where she shared the encounter with us. You all need to read it here

Covid-19 is real people. Let’s take necessary and adequate precautions to keep us safe and our families. Remember health is wealth. When you monitor the numbers regularly, you know it’s a serious outbreak. Covid-19 is no respecter of persons. Just keep safe guys.

Come to think of it, you all know Covid-19 emanated from China and it has spread all over the world and the entire globe at large. These countries are still battling with the cure for the deadly disease. Nigeria has been deeply affected and our infected data keep increasing. Let’s be safe guys.

Some Safety Precautions to Practice this Covid-19 Outbreak

1. Wash your hands regularly. There are several ways to achieve this. Get hand sanitizers, hand washing liquid soap with disinfectants and use them on your hands frequently.

2. Maintain social distancing. Don’t go too close to people. Make sure you are at least 1 meter away from who ever you come in contact with. You know nose mask is the order of the day. Ensure you cover your nose and go with hand sanitizers if need be you have to go out.

Nose mask & Hand sanitizer

3. Avoid touching your sensitive organs ( eyes, nose, mouth). Touching any of these can increase your rate of being infected with whatsoever and therefore expose you to danger. The virus can easily get into your body through them. So avoid that and wash your hands regularly. Wear hand gloves regularly for protection.

4. Eat balanced diet. Eat highly nutritious meals regularly. I did a research sometime ago on how to stay healthy this pandemic period and I understand that the virus can’t stand heat. In as much as proteins should be consumed, let’s reduce the rate at which it is consumed to the minimum because proteins increases our body heat. We can have a mix of less proteins and more carbohydrates with vitamins and eat fruits always.

5. Stay hydrated always. Drink water regularly. Drinking water reduces your body heat and aids metabolism . So yeah drink water often and more often.

6. Stay at home when necessary if your job / Government declares it. Stay in the comfort of your space and avoid danger. This lockdown time is learning time, use this opportunity of staying at home to learn great and new things. Read books that can improve you mentally and develop you as well. Develop skills that can add money to your pocket, connect with God more often, Do workout routines (exercise), Read your Bible and pray fervently. I suggest you create an itinerary (a daily to-do-list) that can make you accountable to all these activities.

Be safe guys!

Enjoy the moment, be the best you can be.

Love and light always!
