It’s another weekend to take some rest off work. How was your week! Wish you all a wonderful weekend.


Overtime, I thought on sharing some secrets about some fruits. As a health and wellness enthusiast, I have studied and made my researches on some certain fruits. So I’d be sharing some nutritional health benefits on a weekly basis. ☺
I really do advice people to take more of fruits and veggies especially in the early hours of the day (mornings) and late in the evenings.

Carrots are root vegetables which are naturally sweet. It is crunchy, and it’s usually orange in color.

Reasons why Carrots are highly beneficial.

  1. They are a great source of some dietary fibres which lowers risk for developing coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and certain gastrointestinal diseases, lowers blood pressure.
  2. They are rich in antioxidants,(antioxidants help protect the body from free radical damage)Free radicals are molecules formed as a result of breathing that can damage cells all over the body and cause oxidative stress.
  3. They contain chlorine and sulfur that helps the liver get rid of toxic wastes products.
  4. They contain carotenoids, calcium and have properties that help protect against lung cancer and aid good eyesight.
  5. They are low in calories and they are an ideal snack for those watching their weight.

They are known as African star apple. They known to the Yoruba’s as Agbalumo, to the Igbo’s as Udara and to the Hausa’s as Ciwoh.

This amazing fruit has many nutritional benefits.

  1. It a good source of calcium. The calcium content serves as a source of strength for the bones and teeth.
  2. It is also a very good source of Vitamin A and C which helps to prevent gum diseases such as scurvy and also helps fight other diseases in the body
  3. They can be used as a natural remedy to treat sore throat, toothaches, and constipation.
  4. It contains fibre which helps in reducing appetite and prevents over eating.
  5. It helps in lowering blood sugar and cholesterol.
  6. It is useful in preventing heart related diseases and treating hypertension.
