How I Met My Sunshine.

Happy New Year 2021!! Whop whop!🎉

It’s better late to wish you guys, than never. I really can’t believe January is almost gone. We thank God for His mercies.

I hope you have started smashing your 2021 goals! It takes just a step and of course commitment to doing it.

Last year 2020, I shared some very personal stories with you guys and I promise to share more. If you read my blog posts or my Instagram captions on my Love Chronicles you should know I have met my Sunshine. The one whom God kept for me until it was time. So I will be sharing how we met. How I meet my dearest Sunshine.

I call him my Sunshine for many reasons. He’s one of the evidences God gave me to know His depth of love for me. He brought back colors and light into my life. You see this love ehnnn, love is indeed a beautiful experience.

Sometime in 2018, precisely on the 29th July, 2018, just after a long day of work on getting home, I opened my personal Instagram page which I usually do very often, (I wasn’t using my picture as my display picture as at that time so I usually wonder why I get a lot of dms from guys) I am a digital marketer and brand strategist so yeah you can tell how often I use Instagram for business majorly. Then I saw this particular direct message from a new follower. I read it and responded almost immediately.

We continue chatting more like every other day on Instagram but we didn’t exchange contacts. More like friendly messages, get to know me kind of conversations and all. At some point in my life I hated this question and answer thing because I don’t even want to know you or whatever you do then while I was recovering from my past loss though. Don’t blame me. Lol.

He kept sending me messages often via Instagram till August when he asked for my contact. I actually pretended I didn’t see the message because I didn’t feel it was necessary to exchange contact. We could come to via to chat nahh. Lol. I shared my contact with him after he requested again so I had to share it.

As soon as he started sending me messages on WhatsApp I didn’t save his contact, as time went by, I saved it as “IK IG”, hahaha. He’s name is Ikechukwu from Delta state.(Just incase you miss that introduction in the chats).

As time went by we talked more often, got to know each other to an extent and boom he started liking me, this likeness is so indescribable. He asked me to be his girlfriend on several occasions while talking on phone and chats but then I wasn’t fully ready to be in a relationship and I needed clarity and peace about him if I really wanted to do this.

I told him I will be his girlfriend on 14/10/2018. After I got some clarity and a little peace which I know God lead me to have said this to him even though I had other suitors. My heart choose someone I haven’t seen before except via video calls and pictures. I loved his personality, I loved his good heart, I loved his sincerity amongst many other things, so yeah I said yes! Really weird. Lmao.

He was out of town and wasn’t in Lagos as at that time so we couldn’t see physically. He got back to Lagos some few days to Christmas in December 2018. He visited me the next day after his arrival, we talked all day. First time two lovers met physically. Beautiful day well spent.

We had our challenges, dating and getting to know someone isn’t all that rossy, no one is perfect so don except perfection from people or whoever. At the same time loving someone can be very interesting. Love is beautiful when you are with the right person for you.

For me, loving again is the best decision I made back then and I was intentional about it despite my loss. I chose to be happy again. I gave love another chance which is worth it.

Getting to know his siblings and vice versa was amazing. My mom was literally the most happiest for me. When I told my Mom he’s Igbo, she was even more happier. She isn’t tribalistic like some African parents and trust me inter tribal relationships can work out if your parents are not tribalistic and of course if you guys love yourselves genuinely. I really never knew it was going to be a very serious relationship.

My Mom, siblings and my friends were so happy for me when he proposed to me on 5/01/2020. First new year gift of 2020. And I said Yes to him. He’s one of the best gifts God blessed me with.

The one I’ve waited for, My love’s design, The one He kept for me, Until it was time, The one that I dreamed about, The one I can’t live without, The one He kept for me
Until it was time.♥️🎶
